First Peppers

This week we got to harvest the first few peppers from this garden.  The first peppers to be ready were the sweet green peppers, though all of the plants are pumping out flowers and many are sporting tiny young fruit. 

 

This week we had a total of four peppers to kickstart our summer harvest season.  These first ones will most certainly be used fresh and later in the season we will freeze them as they reach full size and color.  We are only days away from harvesting the first of the jalepenos as well.  We are looking forward to garden fresh salsa once again.
